I wish i could maintain a blog and keep it updated, but i cant soo0o0o here we go.
My last post was a picture on January 16th. Since then i have been doing pretty well. I turned 17 on January 24th and now can legally see R rated movies. Currently i am sick and feel like i am dying but its alright. totally normal right? i guess ill just make little paragraphs about things i want to talk about.
1. My formspring
my formspring has been disabled, not because i couldn't handle anything anyone was saying, but because it escalated so many problems and there just wasn't any need for it. So now, unfortunately, if there is something you would like to say to me, you're going to have to tell me in a non anonymous way.
2. brick by brick
I am not sure why everyone is complaining about brick by brick because i think its amazing. i think maybe people were expecting more lyrically from alex but its just a simple rock song and its fine the way it is. If the lack of deep lyrics bothers you, try to look past it and focus on the guitar, because its fucking brill.
3. spring trends
Im most likely going to do a spring trend post within the next week. its hard to do when its not very warm out. I HATE WINTER BTW.
4. Submarine sountrack
I haven't seen Submarine, as i don't think it is out in the US but im definitely going to go see it. The soundtrack sounds beautiful and it is exactly what i wanted to hear from alex. Like everyone else, my favourite song would have to be Piledriver Waltz followed closely by Stuck on the Puzzle.
5. I can't really think of anything else to say, but to stop at 4 numbers would annoy the hell out of me.
pretty pointless post, my apologies. xxxx
Unforecasted Storm
I'm Holly. I like music and I like the 60s.

winter 'trends' im sick of
1. scarves
2. UGGS
- yes i wear uggs. they are warm, comfortable and practical. but believe me, i am not under the impression that they're cute or stylish. they're dumb looking and just.. stupid.
3. jeans from buckle
- why the hell would i want a bejewled cross on the back pockets of my jeans? UGLY.
4. vests
5. tight waffley shirts
- .... no.
6. leggings as pants
- HOW MANY FACEBOOK GROUPS NEED TO BE CREATED BEFORE YOU STOP?
7. sweaters and leggings
8. anything and leggings
9. leg warmers
10. sweater dresses
ill stop at an even 10. ill definitely have more to post after i go to school tomorrow. many of these things are specific to what people in my school are wearing. the style in my school is about 2 years behind so.. yeah its bad. and when im surrounded by clothes like that ^ you wonder why i have 2 separate wardrobes.

favourite winter 2011 trends
CAMEL/NAVY

- i love camel colouring in clothes. i think it has a nice classic and sophisticated look to it and usually looks very polished. camel coats/blouses are probably the best, as camel shorts/pants do look nice but i usually am reminded of like a safari when i see them so.. i think it all depends on how you wear them but i definitely could not pull off camel shorts i don't think.
i really love navy and i usually drift towards it as im shopping because i personally look sickly in lighter colours so im glad to see that it's staying in because i feel like navy is a very classic colour.

AVIATOR JACKETS/OR SHEERING
- really did not care for them at all when they started popping up, but they've grown on me in the past few weeks. i don't have one, nor would i buy one now but i do like them and they add a little edginess to an outfit. im really not crazy about 'edgy' things but i do like them.

KNITS
- embroidered knits. i dont think anything can beat a sweater. i love sweaters and have spentsooo much money on them this winter its crazy. i really love ones with like looser stitching, although i am always nervous when i wear them they will catch on something andrip. i really like sweaters in wintery colours like cream, deep red, and a dark green. although i feel slightly holiday-ish in a red or green sweater, i still like them best.

TWEED
- i like tweet skirts and shorts but could never pull them off. i like tweed blazers and i like tweet dresses although they remind me of like a classic corporate kind of feel i still love them & thats really all i can say.

A-LINE
- i like a line cut skirts but they are not flattering on everyone. i find they dont really look all that well on me but i should probably try again because you never know really. again, not a whole lot to say other than if the a line skirt or a line coat/blouse flatters you then GO FOR IT.

LACE
- lace is a tricky one because its been popular for a while. i generally like lace and i do love lace detailing on a dress or blouse but what i dislike is this: tight lace long sleeve shirts that were most likely made for layering but girls wear as a shirt. what i do like: looser lace shirts that are not skin tight. i think with lace it really depends on how you wear it because it can look really nice or it can look really trashy.

intro to my periodic fashion blogging
before i post this i am going to put my cards on the table by saying that if you know me in real life, you obviously i don't dress as nice as i may say sometimes (i dont know when i imply that but i don't know how to word that). i do have some really good pieces and stuff but to be honest i have really no idea how to mix them in the way that i want to & where i live is very.. jeans/hoodies/uggs so yeah its hard to make myself wear something completely different than everyone else. i guess that's sort of the point of fashion though, to wear what you want, how you want, and to not blend in. im just awkward and shy so i clearly opt out of that. i really wish it wasn't the way that it is but oh well. sucks. however, just because i may not always carry out the style i wish to, i do still have opinions and i can still put things together (contrary to what i said before) so if you would like to read, then thank you. if not, just skip those posts then.

for whoever asked me on formspring, this is for you.
so i have no idea where to begin because nothing interesting happens in my life but its been a long time since i've blogged last. my 'new' job is wonderfullllll! i love it, its so much better than where i was before and i work with all my friends which makes it much more fun & im always busy there but its better than standing around doing nothing. i've been really anti social lately and have been having a weird awkward situation with my friends but im not going to say anything about it on here because A) no one cares B) i dont want to start something by them reading it C) ill probably make things worse, so yeah. i guess ill just try to take this by month seeing as its hard to do it any other way since i've been absent from here for so long..
November:
the only thing i can really remember that happened in november would be thanksgiving. if you don't know, thanksgiving is a weird american food holiday. its supposed to be celebrating a dinner in like 1690 something? where the native americans and the pilgrims ate a big dinner? i really don't even know, all i know is we eat a lot of food and thats about it. then the next day which is always a friday is black friday, which i had to work from 6am-2pm. black friday just marks the beginning of christmas shopping and there's a lot of promotions and sales and stuff. other than that i can't really think of anything significant that happened.
December:
this december was a weird and hectic month. i had a lot going on in school with papers and such due and then we had christmas break which was really short compared to our usual one. we were off the 23-3. usually we have about a solid 2 weeks but oh well. my christmas was terrible and my break was boring. i got that lovely 24 hour stomach flu that everyone has been getting and it just topped off the whole thing. i have nothing more to say about december.
January:
i don't have much to say because its only been a week of january but its turning out to be a pretty shitty month, what with the way things are going and school is hard and i just want to drop out. my birthday is the 24th and ill be 17.. yaaaay. i also start an SAT prep course on that day so, happy birthday to me! next week im going to some beatles tribute concert thing at heinz hall which could either be really good or really bad. we'll see. ill post about it after. again, i have nothing more to say.
my life is just so interesting.
if you made it this far, congratulations & thank you.
will probably do a post about what i like right now in terms of music/fashion/etc.
although, i feel weird blogging about fashion because i dress differently than i would like to and its just annoying that i dont have the balls to dress how i really want to and i've been really lazy lately like sweatshirts and yoga pants which i neverrrrr wear in public. i don't know.

thanksgiving, and things like that.
been a while. alright, well thursday was thanksgiving. it was lame and the food wasn't even really that good so whatever. the turkey had that taste, where it tasted too much like turkey. that doesn't make sense but to me it does. okay, like it was too flavourful or something. i don't even really like meat so it needs to be bland or something i don't know how to describe it but it was gross. also, i hate wine. nastiest shit ever. yeah overall it was really boring and dumb. then comes.. black friday. holy shit. for those of you that aren't familiar with black friday, the day after thanksgiving tons of places hold sales that go until like noon or something and there's really low prices and people go nuts. i dont really have anything else to say because i stopped typing and lost my train of though.. alright. bye.
